Fairing Sides

Postby Bueller on Sat Nov 07, 2009 2:09 pm

I picked up the fairing sides today.

For those who have mused, they won't fit a CR. The two halves join together at the front of the stock fairing, and follow around all the way underneath it.

The black sides with the white trim colour may work, but I suspect I'll end up having to get it painted.

I was going to take pics yesterday, but there isn't much to see with them off the bike. I was going to wait to have it on for pics, I'll unpack them again and get some pictures during the week if I can.

They say they are plastic in the product description. Quite thick and seem to be black all the way through. It is possibly not the same plastic as the rest of the bodywork. I have seen posts that say the Buell bodywork is made from Surlyn. The instructions that came for the fairing came with a warning not to get silicon grease on Sor.??.® and while they didn't say what was actually made of this, it could be the fairing. The fairing is thicker amd more rigid that the other bodywork.
